Meet the Team
Courtney Wilson
A native Texan, Courtney moved from Dallas to Tulsa, where she lives with her husband and their three children. Her career began in merchandising and later as an account manager in wholesale for Ralph Lauren Childrenswear.
In 2023, Courtney founded The Mahjong Social Club after rediscovering the game she first learned from her friend and fellow teacher, Elizabeth. At first, she didn’t play much—until a serious case of FOMO struck while watching her Dallas friends post about their mahjong fun. She quickly realized Tulsa needed that same sense of connection and community.
What started as a simple idea has grown into a vibrant, welcoming group in just two years—something Courtney never could have imagined, but now can’t imagine life without.
Heather Duncan
Heather is a lifelong Tulsan, wife and mom to 3. Heather has been friends with Courtney for over 12 years and recently joined her gal pal as co-owner of TMSC! Heather loves to serve the Tulsa community as a consultant and volunteer. She has been key to the success of many beloved Tulsa charities such as The Junior League of Tulsa and Living Arts of Tulsa. When she’s not working, mom-ing or Mahj-ing, you can find her on the tennis courts! Heather’s party trivia is that she’s the oldest of 11 kids! She’s also the friendliest person in Tulsa, we’ve never had a lesson where she didn’t know at least one student!
Catherine Swab
Catherine is the quintessential grand millennial! She is married and works full time in marketing, keeping the rest of us up to date on what’s and what’s meh… She’s a former kindergarten teacher (she taught one of Courtney’s sons!) so she has infinite patience and she knows how to teach to every learning style. Besides Mahj, her hobbies include stitching, travel and Taylor Swift. We are SO lucky to have her in The Club!!
Dana Lee
Dana is a wife and mom to 2 teen girls. She’s an avid swimmer and athlete. After taking one of our Mahjong lessons, she initially confessed she didn’t think she liked the game. But as soon as she won her first Mahjong, she was hooked!! Dana was recruited to teach after Courtney realized she had read and memorized Mah Jongg Made Easy and was pointing out errors other players would make in the nicest way of course!! Dana is infinitely patient and swears by her line reader and playing online to improve her game! Thanks for joining The Club, Dana!
Elizabeth Briggs
Elizabeth is the real OG of The Club, she has been playing Mahjong for 8 years and taught Courtney to play 6 years ago! She’s a wife and mom of 2 teen boys. Her sons are active in academics, cross country, football, track and LAX. Mahjong is definitely Elizabeth’s ‘me’ time and she loves teaching others to play! She has a dry sense of humor and if you catch her on a spicy night she may teach you some of her saltier names for the tiles! Thanks for sharing your love of Mahj and your sense of humor with us, Elizabeth!!
Janna Lemons
Janna is a lifelong Tulsan, wife and mom of FOUR! When she’s not shuttling kids to activities or at the Mahj table, you’ll find her on the tennis court! Fun fact Janna hosted The Mahjong Social Club’s first ever lesson in July 2023 and quickly became obsessed with the game!! We are so lucky she turned ‘pro’ and is now one of our OG teachers! Oh! And Janna also co-owns a thriving gift wrap business, Put A Bow On It! This girl’s not busy. at. all.
Thuy Bui
Thuy was born and raised in Tulsa, a wife and boy mom to two awesome kids. She took her first mahjong lesson with us nearly two years ago and has been playing ever since—including joining our Mahjong League! She's a big-time foodie and loves sharing little bits of her everyday life over on Instagram @heythuydotcom
